Submission of manuscripts
Both members and non-members of the Society are
eligible to publish in the Australasian Mycologist. All manuscripts for publication in the
journal should be submitted as electronic copy, with lines double-spaced. Hard
copies are not usually required, unless requested at the time of submission by
the Editor. Abbreviations follow Brummitt, R.K. & Powell, C.E. (1992). Authors

full in the references.
References cited must be either published or in press. References are given in
chronological order, if more than one reference is cited in one place in the

Manuscripts submitted for publication in the Australasian
Mycologist should not be
submitted to another journal waiting publication or have been previously
published in another journal. Authors submitting manuscripts are responsible
for obtaining the copyright holders’ permission to reproduce any material for
which the author does not hold copyright.
The journal can publish both colour plates and black

charge; more than one page of photographs will attract charges to cover the cost
of the extra page(s). Please provide electronic files of colour, black and
white images and line drawings. These must be provided as tif files and must be
a minimum of 600 dpi. Send these electronic files on CD if they are too large
to email. Figures should be sized either to 1 column (74 mm) wide, 1.5 columns
(120 mm) wide, or full-page width (160 mm). The maximum height for any figure
is 233 mm.
