Glyceridae have an extremely long proboscis. In this example the jaws are lying within the body level witht the 30th set of parapodia!
When the jaws are everted they extend for some distance from the body. Each jaw has a venom gland associated with it. Large glycerids can inflict a nasty bite of unwary people and the venom can cause extreme pain and swelling.
