
Detail of a radiole of a sabellid with four pairs of pinnules. The pinnules are lined with cilia tha generate the upward current. Particle are drawn through the radioles with the water and then fall down into the grooves of the radioles. particles of size a or b are rejcted or used in tube building while those of size c are taken into the mouth.
